HISTORY & OBJECTIVIES
The International Conferences "Inverse Problems: Modeling and Simulation" are organizing in a two-year cycle at the end of May, in the historic city of Oludeniz - Fethiye, on the Mediterranean Sea, in Turkey. The main aim of these Conferences is to bring together all classical and new inverse problems from international scientific schools, and to discuss new chalenges of inverse problems in current interdisciplinary science and future directions. All these International Conference are organizing under the auspices of the leading international journals "Inverse Problems", "Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering" and "Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems". The organizers of the Conference, in particular the Oludeniz Municipality, are putting together an excellent social program consisting of tours to historic places and boat rides.

The First International Conference "Inverse Problems: Modeling and Simulation", sponsored by Fethiye Municipality, Office of Naval Research International Field Office and Naval Undersea Warfare Center (USA), and also by Danish Interdisciplinary Inversion Group (DIIG) (Denmark), was held during July 12 - 21, 2002, in Fethiye, Turkey.

The Second International Conference "Inverse Problems: Modeling and Simulation", sponsored by Fethiye Municipality, international journals "Inverse Problems", "Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems", "Inverse Problems in Engineering", Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), was held during June 07 - 12, 2004, in Fethiye, Turkey.

Approximately 250 participants from 50 countries attended the two Conferences. There were about 15 main expository addresses, 25 organized sessions including several mini symposiums and 150 invited talks. These talks were given by well-known experts on inverse problems in such diverse disciplines as mathematics, engineering sciences, medicine, aerospace engineering, economics and social sciences.

The Third International Conference "Inverse Problems: Modeling and Simulation" sponsored by Oludeniz Municipality, international journals "Inverse Problems", "Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems", "Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering", Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), was held during May 29 - June 02, 2006 in Fethiye, Turkey.

The Fourth International Conference "Inverse Problems: Modeling and Simulation" will be held during May 26 - 30, 2008, in the historic city of Oludeniz - Fethiye, on the Mediterranean Sea, in Turkey. The main aim of the Conference is to combine presentations in the theory and applications of inverse problems scientific groups from all over the world. Our forum will bring together all classical and new inverse problems from international scientific schools. The focus will be on new challenges of inverse problems in current interdisciplinary science and future directions. Continuing the traditions of the previous three international conferences “Inverse Problems: Modeling and Simulation”, this Conference will be held under the auspices of the leading international journals “Inverse Problems”, “Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems” and “Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering”. The Conference is also sponsored by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), the International Association formed by the European Community, for the Promotion of Co-operation with Scientists from the New Independent States of the Former Soviet Union (INTAS) and Kocaeli University.
