M19. Reconstruction Methods for Inverse Problems and Related Studies
In the last 45 years or so, many well-known non-iterative reconstruction methods have been proposed. They are, for example, the potential method, point source method, orthogonality or direct sampling method, linear sampling method, factorization method, probe method, singular sources method, range test method, enclosure method, polarization moment tensors method, monotonicity method, boundary control method, topological derivative method, It should be remarked that the regularization theory and field reconstruction theory played some important roles behind these methods. Now, some of these reconstruction methods are combined with machine learning for their further applications. Also, for an unknown target parametrized by a finite number of parameters, it has been shown rather recently that the regularization theory can be effectively applied if this inverse problem has the Lipschitz stability estimate.
Concerning these situations, it is a good occasion to discuss important problems to be solved and further development of reconstruction methods based on broad perspectives in this mini-symposium. In order to make the discussions effective, we will invite experts on modeling and numerical analysis related to inverse problems.
