  • INVERSE BOUNDARY PROBLEMS

    Organizer:

    B. Tomas Johansson
School of Mathematics, University of Birmingham, UK
    b.t.johansson@bham.ac.uk

    Description:

Many applied inverse problems have part of the data missing on the boundary of the solution domain or part of this boundary is itself unknown, and these are collectively termed inverse boundary problems. Generic examples include Cauchy problems in heat transfer (linear) and corrosion problems (non-linear). There has been recent progress for inverse boundary problems in particular utilizing boundary integral and meshless methods. This minisymposium is aimed at recent results for inverse boundary problems, both linear and non-linear, and numerical regularizing procedures for their stable solution.
